Weight loss can be a difficult conversation to begin

Most overweight people know they need to shed pounds, and while concerned family and friends can start that difficult conversation by focusing on health, anonymous e-mail reminders or refer-a-friend programs may not be a good option. Experts say people who try to lose weight need support, but tough love and stigma are not always good motivators.
