Fox argues for federal court ban on DISH Anywhere features

Fox Broadcasting on Friday asked a federal court judge in Los Angeles to shut down DISH Network's Slingbox-based service that allows subscribers to view live TV on mobile devices outside the home. Fox asserted that the service infringes its copyrights and violates agreements in which cable operators pay local TV stations for the right to retransmit their signals. DISH argued that the new service is merely an extension of 7-year-old Slingbox technology that has not been challenged.
