La. city council OKs bond sale for beautification projects

The Kenner, La., City Council has agreed to sell $47 million in bonds to pay for old debt and fund beautification and infrastructure projects, including improved drainage, landscaping, bike lanes and public art. Councilors who support the measure say the improvements will add property value and attract residents. "We have to invest in our community if we want others to invest," Councilwoman Michelle Branigan said.
