NASA should keep planetary science funding, lawmakers say

Several members of Congress are urging NASA not to reduce its budget for missions to Mars and other planets in the face of funding cuts because of federal sequestration. "Despite the fiscal realities of our time, the fiscal year 2013 budget ensures that the United States will remain the world's leader in planetary space exploration," said Dwayne Brown of NASA's Science Mission Directorate.
