Proposed FINRA disclosure rule divides industry

A Financial Industry Regulatory Authority proposal to require the disclosure of some compensation incentives has divided the financial industry community. SIFMA has publicly supported the proposal. "SIFMA reiterates its support for concise, direct and plain-English disclosures of information that is sufficient to inform an investor of the potential material conflicts of interest that may arise in connection with recruiting related bonus payments," said Ira Hammerman, senior managing director of SIFMA.
