USDA cuts threaten disability rent subsidies in rural areas

Cuts to a U.S. Department of Agriculture rental assistance program could mean 15,000 people with disabilities and low-income elderly in rural areas will lose rent subsidies in August or September, USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack told a House committee. He said the USDA does not "have a good answer" about what will happen if the program runs out of money.
