Medical specialty group adopts tougher ethics code

The Council of Medical Specialty Societies on Wednesday said it has adopted a new ethics code limiting how drug and device makers influence patient care. The rules include restrictions on financial consulting deals, the disclosure of industry support and a ban on industry financial support in developing medical practice guidelines.
