EHR incentive payments reach $4.5B for Medicaid, Medicare providers

The CMS has paid a total of $4.5 billion in EHR incentives to 76,612 doctors and hospitals through March. In March, CMS provided $339.9 million to Medicare-eligible providers, while Medicaid incentives paid to professionals and hospitals for adopting, using and upgrading EHRs were $254.1 million.
