Bank robber tells cops the Pentagon made him do it

Virginia police were stunned when a 21-year-old bank robber named Herson Torres tried to secure his release by producing a letter from the Defense Intelligence Agency that purportedly granted him immunity from prosecution. Upon investigation, it emerged that Torres had been the victim of an elaborate hoax and was genuinely convinced that he had been hired by federal agents to test bank security by staging heists.
