Calif. city officials will urge council to set beach curfew

Police and parks officials in Santa Cruz, Calif., plan to appeal to the City Council to establish a curfew of midnight to one hour before sunrise on Cowell Beach, citing drug use, illegal camping and waste. "We're just hoping this will really ... help us maintain the wonderful beach for the community and visitors," Parks and Recreation Director Dannettee Shoemaker said.
