CI therapy increases gray matter in children with cerebral palsy

MRI scans of 10 children with cerebral palsy following constraint-induced movement therapy revealed increases in their gray matter, particularly in the sensorimotor cortices and in the hippocampus, and an improvement in motor skills, according to a recent study. The researchers said it was unclear whether structural changes in the brain caused improvements in motor skills or whether motor improvements led to the brain changes.
