High alcohol intake increases prediabetes risk in study

Early-stage hypertension patients who consumed more than 10 alcoholic drinks daily had a more than sixfold increased risk of developing prediabetes, according to a study presented at the European Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation's EuroPRevent meeting.
