Hong Kong's ZCB awarded for its integrated innovations, sustainability

The Zero Carbon Building in Hong Kong has been awarded "Champion of the Innovation Award for the Engineering Industry" for its integrated innovations that are tailored for Hong Kong's sub-tropical climate. The three-story building -- engineered by Arup -- used more than "80 sustainability features to heighten its efficiency and diminish its environmental impact." Those include a roof covered in photovoltaic panels, grid feed-in and a "biodiesel tri-generation system to convert waste cooking oil into usable energy."
