Immigration reform bill gets support from food-service industry

New immigration reform legislation from the "Gang of Eight" senators has garnered support from the food-service industry. The bill earned praise from IFA President and CEO Steve Caldeira for its measures, including one that would allow employers to fill less-skilled jobs with American workers before hiring foreign workers. Caldeira lauded the proposed bill's visa policy as "a positive step toward creating a pathway for the future flow of workers needed to fill jobs in the restaurants, hospitality and service sectors in franchising."
