Adware on mobile devices has the potential to roam freely through the device and gather data from e-mails and other sources, consumers are warned by security firm Bitdefender. "Desktop applications are isolated, and the Web browser does not know what contacts you have in your e-mail client. However, Android is highly integrated, so when you get adware it is basically asking for permission to do anything on your device," said Bitdefender analyst Bogdan Botezatu.
