NPD survey examines consumers' tabletop preferences

Home entertaining continues to gain popularity with nearly half of hosts using disposable paper or plastic plates to entertain, according to new research from NPD Group. Respondents cited price, value and appearance as the main determining factors behind specific tabletop purchases, with 64% indicating a willingness to pay more for name-brand items.
