Program allows teachers to gradually take on leadership roles

Teachers in California and elsewhere are easing into school leadership positions through the Emerging Leaders program. The program allows teachers to maintain their classroom roles while also taking on some duties assigned to school principals or helping to supervise a team of teachers. After a year in Emerging Leaders, teachers can choose to enroll in the Aspiring Principals program, where they will work as assistant principals.
