Signs that indicate a need for roof work include cracks on shingles, frost on visible nails in the attic and asphalt granules coming down the downspouts, says Don Link, vice president of the residential division at Alan Kunsman Roofing and Siding in Freemansburg, Pa. All that can be fixed by roofing contractors who are members of the National Roofing Contractors Association, says Jesse Holencik of Holencik Roofing in Coplay, Pa.
