Social media privacy laws worry financial services industry

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority is talking with legislators in 10 states to negotiate a carve-out for the financial industry in laws being written that would prevent employers from looking at employees' social media accounts. One such law in California, which was passed despite FINRA objections, could create a conflict between companies' FINRA obligations and state law.
