Texas schools stand out for serving healthy meals

Two Texas elementary schools have earned recognition from the U.S. Department of Agriculture for their efforts to serve nutritious meals to students, winning gold awards through the HealthierUS School Challenge. "We encourage students to embrace good eating and healthy lifestyle habits at an early age, and we understand schools' food and nutrition programs play a big role in this effort," Foodservice Director Sandra Hernandez said.
