HD Supply focuses on green tech to cut carbon footprint

HD Supply has focused on green-tech initiatives to reduce its carbon footprint. The wholesale distributor employed server virtualization last year, generating more than $200,000 in savings through reduced power bills. HD Supply also replaced outdated servers with energy-efficient blade servers and reduced the size of its data center from 15,000 square feet to 7,000 square feet.
