UN won't send force to Somalia

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon advised against authorizing a UN force to quell lawlessness in Somalia, saying it would risk the lives of the peacekeepers stationed there. Instead, he has suggested a strategy to beef up the African Union peacekeepers force and Somalia security forces already on the ground. The UN will reconsider the decision in June.
