Bill seeking moratorium on flood insurance gains steam in Congress

Legislation that would enable homeowners and businesses in newly mapped flood zones to delay their payment of mandatory flood insurance for five years is gaining momentum in Congress, said Rep. Jerry Costello, D-Ill. "We feel very optimistic and, hopefully, the committee will get the bill out in the next week or so, and we look forward to moving it to the [House] floor," he said.
