API, trucking groups craft gas transportation safety standards

The American Petroleum Institute, the American Trucking Association and the National Truck Carriers have teamed up to develop natural gas transportation safety standards. One of the concerns that the groups seek to address is increased traffic. "The industry is committed to protecting our employees, the environment, and the communities where we operate, all while increasing energy security by safely and responsibly developing the energy America needs to fuel its economy," said Holly Hopkins, upstream senior policy adviser at API.
