BIO chief talks about 2013 convention, state of biotech industry

This year's convention is particularly special for BIO since its celebrating its 20th anniversary, BIO President and CEO Jim Greenwood said in this interview. The event is expected to attract more than 3,000 companies, and guests can expect more than 25,000 partnering meetings and "four football fields' worth of exhibits." The biotech sector achieved some great successes this year but challenges remain, just like last year, Greenwood said. BIO's top policy concerns are cuts to Medicare Parts B or D. "If there is going to be entitlement reform, BIO will work to ensure that incentives for innovation are not undercut," he said.
