CMS taps Big Data to gauge care quality measures

The CMS is collaborating with the Health Services Advisory Group and GNS Healthcare to examine the effects of quality standards used by the agency on patient care. GNS will use its Big Data analytics platform, called Reverse Engineering and Forward Simulation, to evaluate the relationships between quality measures reported by providers and real-world patient outcomes.
