Developer of Minn. wind project dismayed by permitting process

The developer of the proposed New Era Wind Farm project in Goodhue County, Minn., has written a letter to the state Public Utilities Commission expressing frustration at the lengthy permitting process, according to Tom Steward of the Minnesota bureau of Watchdog.org. "New Era has no confidence that due process for this project will ever end, nor that an [Avian and Bat Protection Plan] will ever be approved, however comprehensively and carefully drafted," wrote New Era owner Peter Mastic in the letter. Mastic also informed the regulators that he may sell the project's power rights to recoup some of his investment.
