Device lets bike riders crank up their phones

Two developers have updated the 1940s technology of converting kinetic energy into electricity for the 21st century with a device that allows bike riders to charge their cell phones. Dave Delcourt and Aaron Latzke say their 10.5-ounce Atom device can charge any USB device, and generates about 3 watts on a bike ridden at 10 mph. The two are trying to raise $85,000 on Kickstarter to bring the device to market.
