The Pentagon's Defense Information Systems Agency has chosen CenturyLink to install a fiber-optic network supporting high-speed communications between Department of Defense researchers and engineers. The work order, which has the potential to reach a value of $750 million and run for a decade, will include the deployment of a virtual private local area network service and will link more than 150 DOD facilities.
