Dozens of apps affected by new BadNews Android bug

A new Android bug packaged as a legitimate advertising hosting network is wreaking havoc across the Google Play store, with at least 32 different applications known to be infected, according to the mobile security firm Lookout. Dubbed BadNews, the malware is able to circumvent Android's automated detection system and has reportedly been downloaded more than 2 million times, mostly in Russian-speaking countries.
