Elderly care model yields better outcomes, study finds

The use of the Mobile Acute Care for the Elderly program was associated with lower rates of adverse outcomes and shorter hospital stays compared with usual care, according to a study in the journal JAMA Internal Medicine. However, researchers said that the patient-centered program did not reduce 30-day readmission rates or boost functional status more than the standard care.
