Exchange execs voice concern about European transaction tax

Officials from leading exchanges are expressing concern about a proposed tax on financial transactions in Europe. The executives say the levy would drive trading to other jurisdictions and make it more difficult for companies to raise money. "If the FTT is introduced extensively, I think most of the trading weight will shift from Europe to Asia and America," said Tomoyoshi Uranishi of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
