Expansion of federal E-Rate program proposed

Federal Communications Commission member Jessica Rosenworcel is calling for the creation of an "E-rate 2.0," an expansion of the program that would better meet the needs of districts struggling to provide broadband Internet and other infrastructure in schools. Districts' needs, she said, have only increased under the Common Core State Standards, which include a mandate that exams be taken online.
