Floods overflow Mo. farm levees as Mississippi River swells

Floodwaters from the Mississippi River topped several farm levees in Missouri on Monday as the river rose to near-crest levels because of heavy rains last week. More rain could hit the region in the coming days. "If the crest numbers we're hearing don't go any higher, we believe we will be OK," said Jo Anne Smiley, mayor of Clarksville, Mo.
