Industry groups, privacy orgs clash over child data rules

The Applications Developers Alliance and others have requested a six-month delay to the implementation of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, drawing a response from privacy advocates. An "unwarranted" delay would harm children and "undermine the goals of both Congress and the FTC," according to a letter sent by 19 privacy groups.
