Lawn mowers can seriously injure children, experts warn

In the past two weeks, there have been several reports of serious lawn-mowing injuries involving children, including a 2-year-old girl from Florida who lost her feet after being backed over by a lawn mower. The AAP reported that more than 17,000 youths are treated for serious injuries every year. When lawn mowers are being used, it is important for adults to "always know where your children are," orthopedic surgeon Dr. Steven Lovejoy said.
