Microsoft offers less intrusive ad format for Outlook.com

Microsoft Advertising is offering new ad units called versaTiles for Outlook.com, an effort to allow advertisers to do "deep storytelling" without being intrusive, according to Jennifer Creegan, general manager of digital advertising experiences. "They're built ... to ensure people using Outlook.com have a great experience and see ads in places that can enrich their mail experience, not deter from it," Creegan said.
