Minn. Legislature OKs tougher stance on fake 9-1-1 calls

The Minnesota Legislature passed and sent to Gov. Mark Dayton a bill that would make it a gross misdemeanor to make fake 9-1-1 calls or send phony 9-1-1 texts with the intent of dispatching emergency responders to a location. If someone is seriously injured because of a fake call or text, the charge increases to a felony.
