Ohio district to expand universal meal program

Ohio's Chillicothe City Schools Board of Education recently voted to provide universal, free meals to students attending high-poverty schools. The vote ties the district to the Community Eligibility Option -- part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National School Lunch Program -- for the next four years. The district already provides free breakfast to all students, but the program will expand to include lunches beginning in the 2013-14 school year.
