Older Web users flocking to social media, says U.K. regulator

More than one-third of 55- to 64 year-old U.K. Internet users set up a social media account last year, and a quarter of those 65 and older did the same, according to the U.K.'s Office of Communications. That trend could have an effect on younger networkers, writes Natasha Lomas. "Lots more older users flocking to mainstream social network sites could further encourage younger users to take more of their chatter elsewhere," Lomas writes.
