OPPD gives update on planned safety changes for Neb. plant

The Omaha Public Power District plans to enhance flooding and tornado-debris safety at its Fort Calhoun nuclear plant in Nebraska before resuming operations, the utility said as part of an update to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. The facility has been offline for two years because of safety violations and flooding issues.
