Reports about nuclear energy's benefits should get more coverage

A report from renowned climatologists about the benefits of nuclear energy should receive more coverage from the mainstream media because it is in the public's interest, writes Clint Wolfe, executive director of Citizens for Nuclear Technology Awareness. According to the report, nuclear power has saved millions of lives by preventing the release of 64 gigatons of carbon dioxide from the burning of fossil fuel. The displacement of nuclear energy by natural gas or coal would also lead to millions of pollution-related deaths, Wolfe writes.
