Study: Radiotherapy helps older patients with metastasized cancer

Radiotherapy improves quality of life for elderly patients whose cancer has spread to bone, researchers reported at an oncology and radiotherapy conference. Study author Paulien Westhoff of the University Medical Centre Utrecht in the Netherlands said the benefits of radiotherapy for treating bone pain were known, but the specific effects in the elderly were not previously understood.
