Survey of Asian derivatives markets raises fragmentation concerns

Celent has released results of an ISDA-commissioned survey of Asian derivatives users, finding that 46% of respondents likely will use local central counterparties for clearing. About 8% of respondents plan to use global and local clearinghouses, while 38% expect to go with global CCPs. The results raise concerns about liquidity fragmentation in Asian markets.
