Taiwan streamlines approvals for drug imports

Taiwan's Food and Drug Administration has released new regulations that will expedite approval for imported drugs if they have been available for at least 10 years in the U.S., the U.K., Switzerland, Sweden, Japan, Germany, France, Canada, Belgium or Australia. Under current rules, pharmaceuticals required lengthy animal and human trials before approval. The new regulations take effect immediately.
