Team-based care for seniors tied to better outcomes

Two team-based programs for elderly health care were linked to better outcomes, according to reports in JAMA Internal Medicine. The Mobile Acute Care of the Elderly model was associated with lower rates of adverse outcomes and shorter hospital stays, while Ace Care for Elders interdisciplinary units reduced costs and readmissions, compared with usual care.
