Texas fertilizer plant blast prompts calls for CFATS evaluation

The explosion of a fertilizer plant in Texas last week is turning lawmakers' attention to the Department of Homeland Security's Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards program. "What will be important is the investigation," said American Chemistry Council spokesman Scott Jensen. "It's early to figure out what steps need to be taken. We need to be sure the legislation in place is being implemented properly."
