Verizon: Cyberespionage was behind 20% of data breaches last year

The motive behind about 20% of data breaches last year was cyberespionage, and most such attacks came from China, Verizon Communications says, adding that about 1 in 7 breaches were the work of insiders. Most frequently targeted were financial firms, at 37% of data breaches and security incidents, followed by restaurants and retailers, at 24%.
