NYU to open urban technology center in downtown Brooklyn

New York University and city officials said they have made a deal that will create an applied sciences institution, to be called the NYU Center for Urban Science and Progress, in what once was the headquarters of the city's transit authority. The new campus could help revitalize Brooklyn's commercial core which has seen little benefit from the rejuvenation of Brooklyn's residential areas, they said.
