CA is making the transition to become a SaaS firm, CEO says

Michael Gregoire, CEO of CA Technologies, told customers at a conference in Las Vegas that his company is in the process of shifting to the software-as-a-service model, and he urged them to adopt the cloud-based technology. "We saw the transition from mainframe to distributed, and now we are all experiencing this transition from distributed to the cloud," Gregoire said. "... I think we are going to see a different pivot point as we move from distributed to the cloud. It's not going to be a graceful transition." Customers that fail to upgrade will see increased costs on legacy software, Derek du Preez writes.
